Energy management and technology business GSH Group has outsourced its purchasing to Optimum Procurement in a deal to manage around £100 million spend across the UK, Europe and US.
The contract will run until the end of 2015 and covers both core categories such as air conditioning, lifts and tool hire, and non-core categories such as catering, office equipment and travel. Optimum will also manage supplier reporting and update GSH’s internal sourcing processes.
In addition, the company has also outsourced management of 1,250 commercial vehicles to Optimum Fleet.
“Having access to a first-rate procurement function is an integral part of our commercial strategy and outsourcing to Optimum ensures we are able to achieve this in the most flexible and cost effective way,” said GSH managing director John Davy.
David Griffiths, director of operations at Optimum, added: “Our focus is on utilising local procurement talent wherever possible, to ensure we stay culturally aligned to the needs of the different businesses within the GSH Group.”
