Etihad Airways, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and BAE Systems Saudi Arabia are among the 14 companies shortlisted for the 2013 CIPS Middle East Awards.

Competition will be fiercest in the Most Improved Purchasing Operation – Step Change and Procurement Team of The Year categories, with six companies making the shortlist in each. And there are six companies that have been nominated in three of the team categories, including MTN Dubai and Qatar Petroleum.

Four professionals have been shortlisted in each of the individual categories - CIPS Middle East Young Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional of the Year and CIPS Middle East Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional of the Year. Dubai Aluminium, which won the Procurement Team of the Year award in 2012, has two buyers nominated in each category.

The winners will be revealed on 19 May 2013 at the glamorous evening ceremony at the InterContinental hotel in Dubai. Tickets for the showpiece in the Middle East procurement calendar are still available and further details can be found at www.cipsmiddleeastawards.com

The sponsor for this year’s ceremony is QinetiQ Commerce Decisions.
