Hisao Tanaka will move up from his current role of overseeing procurement and operations at Toshiba to become CEO of the corporation.

In his role as corporate senior executive, vice president and director, Tanaka oversees procurement and manufacturing at the consumer electronics division of the Japanese company.

In June, he will take over from current CEO Norio Sasaki, who upon completion of his four-year term will become the company’s first vice chairman.
