Andy Koehler, the former head of global sourcing at Adidas, has joined Puma as chief operating officer and will hold overall responsibility for its supply chain.

Koehler, who also held the position of managing director of Hong Kong at the same time, has already started in the role and will report directly into incoming Puma CEO, Björn Gulden, who starts on 1 July. Koehler will be responsible for overseeing supply chain management, logistics, IT and overall operations at Puma.

Koehler said in a statement: “I am excited to be a member of Puma’s top management team, contributing in supporting the company and brand strategy within its transformation programme and beyond. Puma has an enormous potential to tap both the sports performance and lifestyle markets with its design and innovation power as well as its unique brand heritage. I am eager to support reaching the business and growth targets with the next stage of the company’s development."

Jean-Francois Palus, chairman of the administrative board of Puma, said of the appointment: “[He] brings international and industry experience in sourcing and supply chain management necessary to manage Puma’s operations through the company's transformation period and consequently its next phase of growth.”

In January, Reiner Seiz quit as chief supply chain officer at Puma after working at the company for 23 years. Former CEO Franz Koch left in December last year.
