Etihad Airways was named procurement team of the year prize at the CIPS Middle East Awards held in Dubai last night.
Nominees and guests gathered for the second annual celebration or procurement and supply chain success at the InterContinental Hotel, Festival City in the Emirate yesterday evening to find out who the judges had chosen as winners of the region’s prestigious purchasing honours.
Other winners on the night included EQUATE Petrochemical Company for Best Contribution to Corporate Responsibility. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia won for Best People Development Initiative. Best Supplier Relationship Management went to Qatar Petroleum. In the Most Improved Purchasing Operation awards, MTN Dubai won in the start up category, and WorleyParsons for step change. And Emirates Aluminium Company was the victor in the Best Contribution to the Reputation of the Procurement Profession category.
There were also two individual awards handed out. Hamilton Rozario from Dubai Aluminium was named CIPS Middle East Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional of the Year, and Tareq Alali from Emirates National Oil Company was named in the young professional category, which recognises a buyer under the age of 30.
