CIPS Corporate Ethical Mark for New South Wales Trains

New South Wales (NSW) Trains has become the first public organisation to be awarded the corporate ethical mark by CIPS in Australasia.

The organisation has adopted the CIPS code of ethics, and ensured its sourcing, supplier selection and supplier management staff have done CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply e-learning and the CIPS ethics test, both required for the ethical mark.

NSW Trains, which employs 2,000 people and has dedicated train and coach services for intercity and regional customers – must adhere to business ethics and the laws and regulations in which it operates, commit to accountability and promote a safe environment for reporting unethical practices.

“The certification is an indication that our team are employing best practice,” said Rob Mason, CEO of NSW Trains.

Siju Johny, CPO, added: “Procurement is integral to the selection and management of suppliers, all of which support value for money, better quality and sustainable services which NSW Trains provides.”
