Japan Airlines (JAL) has joined Sedex to help drive its responsible procurement strategy.
JAL will use Sedex’s global platform, tools and resources to drive transparency and gain visibility of its global supply chain. It will also monitor and manage risk and engage with its suppliers to improve standards.
The JAL Group CSR strategy aims to meet the expectations of society, address social issues, and pass on a better society to future generations.
Toshiki Oka, executive officer of JAL Purchasing, said the airline was committed to ensuring the sustainability of its supply chain.
"Sedex's tools to help drive improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains are indispensable as we continue to develop our supply chains to meet our corporate policy, which is to increase corporate value and contribute to the betterment of society”.
JAL flies to more than 254 airports in 41 countries and regions, and has a fleet of more than 220 aircraft. Sedex works with buyers and suppliers around the world to deliver improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.
