The CIPS Middle East Conference will feature speakers ranging from the incoming head of the UK Ministry of Defence’s procurement arm to high-profile local CPOs.

Tony Douglas, currently CEO at Abu Dhabi Airports but recently appointed chief executive at Defence Equipment & Support, will be presenting, as will Jason Brown, head of procurement and commercial management at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, and Tahir Rafiq, head of procurement at First Gulf Bank.

The conference, which takes place on 11 May at the InterContinental hotel in Abu Dhabi, has the theme “From purchasing evolution to procurement and supply revolution” and is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Airports.

Sessions will cover diverse subjects including the best way to develop capability in the local supply base in the Middle East, the cultural differences of negotiation and what progress there has been for women working in procurement and supply.

Award-winning filmmaker and entrepreneur Nayla Al Khaja will give a presentation on overcoming obstacles to find success and inspire those around you.

There will also be range of exhibitors for delegates to speak to.

The fourth CIPS Middle East Awards takes place at the same venue in the evening, and promises a night of celebration for the profession in the region. For a full list of nominees, please click here.
