Turkish companies have 'drive and a desire to compete on global stage', CIPS conference hears

10 August 2015

Two hundred delegates attended CIPS’ first full-day conference in Turkey to hear key speakers and case studies.

Titled ‘From Purchasing Evolution to Procurement and Supply Revolution’, attendees heard from companies including MAVI and Hitachi Rail Europe about how procurement plays an integral part in their success. David Noble, group CEO, CIPS, said the Institute has been operational for nearly four years in Turkey, and opened an Istanbul office in 2014.

“Turkish economic growth has continued to beat expectations and has led to an increased need for skilled procurement professionals,” said Will Beattie, head of international business development at CIPS.

“Having trained over 2,000 individuals across Turkey we have been impressed with their drive as well as a desire for organisations to compete on the global stage.”

CIPS has a dedicated LinkedIn group for Turkey and plans more networking events.
