ADSL earns gold sustainability standard

10 February 2015

Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL), supplier of facilities management and construction services under the 35-year Project Allenby/Connaught contract, has been awarded the CIPS Sustainable Procurement Review Gold Award.

It is only the third company to be awarded the certificate, which assesses ‘sustainable procurement in action’ and this is the culmination of its 18-month project, initiated to categorise and assess all of its services and materials against 12 criteria.

The approach has been applied to ADSL’s largest contracts and has included revisions to policies and processes, along with the development of training, and including online and ADSL-specific courses. The company has also developed a Sustainable Supply Chain Charter to ensure supplier engagement with its objectives – and its data reporting and engagement with the supply chain has improved as a result.

Graham Blow, ADSL managing director, said: “We are embedding sustainability into every part of our business and our suppliers are helping to achieve that.
