Bernard Gray to continue in defence procurement role

16 February 2015

Chief of defence materiel Bernard Gray will stay on in his role until the end of the year.

The Ministry of Defence said Gray, who has completed his four year appointment as head of its acquisition and support organisation, has agreed to stay on to carry on with reforms and help with the Strategic Defence and Security Review that will follow the general election.

He will also help enable a smooth transition for the incoming chief executive of Defence Equipment and Support, who is in the process of being appointed.

Gray said: “We will continue working on delivering existing programmes, improving support to the armed forces, and helping the MoD centre on the equipment aspects of the defence review, as well as driving transformation. It will be an exciting and busy year.”
