Building a model for ‘scalable’ procurement

3 February 2015

‘Scalable’ procurement provides a solution for businesses with limited procurement resources to ensure that they are deployed in the most effective way, says Dave Nellist.

It is about giving others in the organisation the means to manage the balance of supply-side activity.

Combining published standards, methods and policies with additional tools and data will result in the creation of a procurement framework, which must be clearly communicated and accessible to all who will use it.

This system is a required foundation for a scalable approach to procurement; time spent developing this will make it easier to achieve quality outcomes, manage procurement consistently and mitigate against risk.
