Leisa Hewitt joins Procurement for Housing as procurement director

26 February 2015

Procurement for Housing (PfH) has made three new appointments including a new procurement director.

Leisa Hewitt joins the social housing purchasing consortium as procurement director. She was previously head of procurement and supplies at University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. Hewitt has also held procurement roles at British Transport Police, Manchester Primary Care Trust and Jarvis Rail.

“Procurement is an under-resourced commodity in the social housing sector. I want to show members that procurement can be about much more than sourcing activity for lowest cost products and services. If undertaken strategically it can deliver invaluable commercial intelligence that could help the sector create far bigger efficiencies than it is currently making," she said.

Magnus Walker has also been appointed as head of energy services for PfH, which is a newly created role. And Ian Taylor has joined PfH Scotland as head of operations.
