More than a third of the University of Gloucestershire’s £23.2 million annual spend was with local suppliers in 2014, according to a new report.
Its total contribution to the local economy was measured at £150 million.
The study, produced by BiGGAR Economics, also estimated the University’s activities and spending supported almost 3,000 jobs in the South West region of England.
“We are proud to be the University of, and for, Gloucestershire” says University vice-chancellor Stephen Marston.
“This report provides a good benchmark against which to measure our progress as we realise our ambitious plans to grow our University and expand our links with businesses and other organisations in the county.”
