Suppliers recognised at 2015 Supplier Excellence Awards in Scotland

1 July 2015

Large and SME suppliers to Scottish local authorities have been celebrated at the 2015 Supplier Excellence Awards.

The prizes recognised best practice by firms delivering products and services through Scotland Excel’s procurement frameworks to councils across the country.

Winners for the seven categories were chosen from 61 entries and rewarded for good practice in council service areas ranging from education and employability programmes through to major recycling and civil engineering projects.

The awards event, which took place Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, recognised both small to medium-sized and large business winners for each category.

The judging panel was made up of procurement experts, elected members and industry representatives from across Scotland.

Councillor Mike Holmes, convener of Scotland Excel and a judge of the awards, said: “We wanted to recognise businesses that go that extra mile in delivering excellence in customer services, environmental issues, delivering community benefits and those that provide the very best value for money."

Scotland Excel was established in 2008 to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public sector procurement. It is a non-profit making organisation funded by all 32 local authorities.
