An Australian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC) and CIPS Australasia partnership has paid off with the number of public sector members of CIPS Australasia growing by 24 per cent in the last year.
Public services workers now make up one fifth of CIPS Australasia’s members.
They joined forces to create a professional procurement workforce across Australia and New Zealand to meet current and future demands, to elevate the standing and skills of government procurement officers, and to assist the government by attracting and retaining procurement officers.
“Excellence in procurement requires distinct capabilities,” said Teresa Scott, executive director, APCC. “We are working across Australasia to ensure they are available to government.”
