A new building and engineering maintenance services framework, open to all NHS organisations, has gone live.
The framework, designed by procurement collaborative NHS London Procurement Partnership, offers the option of either a fully managed building engineering maintenance service under lot one, or specific individual maintenance services under lots two to 14.
The framework was created following the expiry of a Crown Commercial Service framework in October last year. Research among NHS organisations determined that an expanded building and engineering maintenance services framework was more appropriate than an alternative total facilities management contract.
The framework includes forms of contract standardised for the NHS and standardised key performance indicators and service level agreements. It has also simplified the process for trusts to procure services and supplies while consolidating the supplier base.
Contracts run until the end of March 2017.
