The procurement process for timber used in the construction of buildings for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has been attacked by NGOs.
In a letter to the president of the International Olympic Committee, 44 NGOs said efforts to mitigate the risks of illegal and unsustainable timber being used in construction projects were “woefully inadequate”.
