CIPS has jumped almost 50 places in the Sunday Times ranking of the best places to work following a cross-departmental effort.

The charity has climbed to number 38 in the newspaper’s 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations To Work For, which is based on anonymous surveys. CIPS was also awarded two stars, up from one a year ago.

CIPS, the world’s largest procurement and supply professional organization, employs staff globally and has more than 100 employees at its head office in Easton-on-the-Hill in Northamptonshire.

CIPS said: “CIPS employees took part in a confidential survey measuring staff levels of fulfilment, motivation and engagement and the application also had to provide evidence of support for local communities and the public good.”

David Noble, group CEO, CIPS (pictured centre with Karen Robinson, supplements editor at the Sunday Times, and Tim Richardson, chairman of the CIPS Global Board of Trustees), said: “This is another outstanding result for CIPS and an amazing improvement on last year’s results.

“Best Companies is a highly popular and well-regarded award given to organisations that have excelled in employee engagement. Best Companies exists to promote a global step change in the quality of employment and we are pleased to be a part of that aim.

"Our application for the award was a cross-departmental effort with colleagues from different teams working towards this same goal – showcasing CIPS as a great place to work and a keen supporter of the local community.”
