Comedian Ed Byrne to host CIPS Supply Management Awards

There will be laughter at the CIPS Supply Management Awards — with stand-up comedian Ed Byrne as celebrity speaker, that is pretty much guaranteed. There may also be swearing.

Byrne, a regular panelist on Mock the Week and one of the UK’s top live acts, tours the country delivering his wry wit and charming rants on life and other activities.

He has built his reputation on observational comedy – an observer rather than a doer. Yet in the last few years, the 36-year-old Irishman has also become very active outdoors, bagging Scottish Munros with Muriel Gray, canoeing rapids in the Cairngorms and going on a great big adventure across Panama with Dara O’Brien.

Now Byrne's challenge will be to regale procurement professionals at this year’s awards, which recognise the industry’s best in innovation, sheer determination and collaboration. The event is being hosted at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Wednesday 14 September.

The event is an opportunity for procurement teams around the country to network and celebrate the best the profession has to offer.
