Shortlist announced for 2016 CIPS Supply Management Awards

After the first fierce round of judging more than 150 entries, we can now announce the names of the individuals and organisations that seized a place on the shortlist for this year’s awards.

Chris Bell from City of London Corporation, Jane Ellis from Citi and John Dowling, formerly of Doosan Babcock, are the top three who remain in the running to be named the next CIPS procurement and supply chain management professional of the year.

While Alexandra Burgess from Shell UK, Alexandra Hackwell from mhs homes, Daniel Tunnicliffe from Rolls-Royce, Lucy Morrison from Innovia Films and Philip Carvel from Northumbrian Water were the strongest contenders in a field of nearly 20 for the title of ‘young professional of the year’.

In the 13 group categories, a dozen organisations across the third, public and private sectors merit more than one mention on the shortlist. They are: City of London Corporation, Doosan Babcock, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Heathrow Airport, Jaguar Land Rover, Ladbrokes, Northumbrian Water, RBS, Rolls-Royce, Scope, Shell and Sodexo. The full list is revealed below.

Judges were encouraged by the impressive achievements of procurement professionals, particularly in the areas of corporate social responsibility and the work done with internal stakeholders for the ‘cross-funcational teamwork’ award.

Particularly strong competition in a number of categories has led to a longer shortlist of contestants hoping to clinch that title.

The winners in all the team and the two individual categories will be announced at a lavish black tie event at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 14 September.
