Walmart partners with JD.com in new online strategy

Walmart has formed a strategic alliance with China’s second largest e-commerce company JD.com in a major change to its Chinese online retailing strategy.

As part of the shake-up Walmart has swapped its Yihaodian brand, which formed the keystone of its strategy to enter the Chinese online market since 2011, for a 5% stake in JD.com.
