World Bank boosts climate defence fund

The World Bank Group is to nearly double financial support to countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to combat the threat of climate change.

The MENA Climate Action Plan will increase the portion of bank financing dedicated to climate action over the next four years, taking it to around US$1.5bn (£1.2bn) per year by 2020.
