The regulatory burden on Australia’s monopoly infrastructure such as ports is “minimal” and needs to be revised.
Rod Sims, chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), said privatised port assets needed to be properly regulated to ensure they did not increase prices excessively.
