Australian sheep exporters have introduced new measures to improve the welfare of animals exported live for the Eid al-Adha festival in the Middle East.
The annual festival creates a surge in demand for sheep for sacrifice and consumption as Muslims celebrate the end of the haj. Globally around 100m sheep, goats, camels and cows are slaughtered.
