Fewer than half of Africans trust their politicians and large majorities say at least some of them are corrupt, according to a survey covering 36 countries.
The research, by Afrobarometer and involving almost 54,000 interviews, found 48% of respondents trusted their MPs “somewhat” or “a lot” while a third see “most” or “all” of elected representatives as corrupt.
