Demand for Western-style breakfast boosts dairy

A growing middle class is driving demand for Western breakfast products such as butter, cream and cheese in China, according to the world's largest exporter of dairy products.

Fonterra, a New Zealand-based dairy cooperative, said it had boosted the number of stores selling its Anchor Dairy Foods product range in China from 1,400 to 1,700 in recent months and had given products a higher profile on e-commerce platforms – a popular way of purchasing food items in China.
