Procurement recognised in New Year Honours

The procurement profession has been recognised in the New Year Honours with a gong for Marie Brennan for her work in the Crown Commercial Service (CCS).

Brennan has been awarded a CBE for services to commercial capability in the public sector in her role as crown commercial leader at the Cabinet Office.

Brennan, currently working as a consultant at United Utilities, has worked for HMRC, the Government Procurement Service and as director of sourcing operations at the CCS.

Meanwhile, Vanita Patel has received an MBE for charitable services to human rights due to her role as an anti-slavery ambassador, Worldwide Eradication of Slavery.
