China offers airliner at half the price of rivals

China has taken a leap into the highly competitive commercial airliner market with the maiden flight of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of Chinas (COMAC) flagship C919.

COMAC said the medium-haul jet, which can seat around 156-168 passengers and has a standard range of 4,075km, had successfully completed a flight near Shanghai.
