Oxfam is urging investment in smallholder agriculture as a way of boosting incomes and security for the continent’s poorest people.
In a report timed to coincide with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa, which started on Wednesday in Durban, South Africa, the organisation called for a more “human economy”. Data from the Brookings Institute shows levels of inequality in many African countries are far higher than previously thought.
