Singapore to boost Asia infrastructure partnerships

Singapore will set up an Infrastructure Office (IO) this year to bring together local and international firms to develop, finance and execute projects in the Asia region.

During his speech outlining Singapore’s 2018 budget, finance minister Heng Swee Keat highlighted the shift in global economic weight towards Asia, in view of China’s Belt and Road initiative, India’s economic reforms and a rapidly growing middle class in ASEAN countries.
