Acacia Mining in Tanzania purchased goods and services worth $434m from local businesses in 2017, according to a study.
A report by EY said these purchases accounted for 67% of total supplier purchases made by the mining group. Around $120m of the spend went to businesses in the direct locality of the company’s three mines in the Lake Zone.
