JD.com opens centre for supply chain innovation

China’s JD.com has opened a multi-million dollar Global Supply Chain Innovation Centre (GSIC) to challenge Amazon and Alibaba.

The e-commerce giant said the aim of the centre would be to encourage the development of new supply chain technologies by gathering together industry experts, market players, universities and other institutions to share resources, knowledge, ideas and technologies.
