Local governments in Australia must consider introducing minimum levels of recycled content in public buying to tackle waste.
David O’Loughlin, president of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), has urged state and territory governments to use their “vast policy levers, procurement power and $1bn in waste levy funds”.
