E-mail wails

4 September 2007

Coming back from holiday presents a dilemma – what to do with all those e-mails filling up your inbox?

It is estimated that the average worker has around 600 waiting for them when they get back from a two week break, but how can you begin to tackle them?

One academic says that you should simply delete them all. Anything serious will have been dealt with by your colleagues and the rest are not worth bothering with. If something important is deleted it will be sent again.

I admit I wouldn’t be bold enough to do this, but how many of you would? How do you tackle the e-mail mountain?
