Jaded view?

7 April 2008

One Chinese logistics expert tells SM: “If you ask a regular guy from the US what they think it’s like in China, the answer would generally come back: “Probably people don’t have a TV in their house, maybe they still wear pigtails.” Very old views and the UK may be the same."
“But when they set foot in China, their expression is one of astonishment, they can’t believe it. ‘It’s even better than Hong Kong and Singapore' they say.”
Is this your experience of China – or perhaps somewhere else? Have you ever had a set view of a place and then visited on business and been surprised by what you found?
