Do SMEs have the capacity needed?

Small businesses and third sector groups are receiving an awful lot of attention from both the public and private sector at the moment (see yesterday's supplymanagement.com web news for just two examples).

Businesses are putting forward not only the social responsibility case for using these suppliers but also the value and innovation they can add to your business.

But will this extra interest swallow up the capacity in the market? SMEs by their nature can only deal with a certain amount of business, despite their desires to expand.

Have you seen business turned down by SMEs that are in demand? Or are small firms always grateful for extra work?
