Time is not of the essence for most buyers

Paul SnellIt surprised me that a majority of buyers are not speeding up their procurement process to help their suppliers. According to our latest SM poll 63 per cent of purchasers do not believe it is a priority to shorten their tender processes. I would have thought a quick procurement process would benefit both buyers and suppliers – providing it is conducted efficiently and well of course. Why do you think there is hesitancy about speeding up processes?
