A summertime morale boost

11 May 2009
As the weather in the UK starts to improve, it can often be dispiriting to be stuck inside the office during the working week when the sun is beating down outside. But cereal manufacturer Kellogg’s is urging other firms to follow its example and give its workers the afternoon off on a Friday to boost morale. The 660 staff at the firm’s head office in Manchester will be allowed to leave at noon, providing they still complete 36.6 hours a week, according to this Sky News story. I’m sure the employees at head office will be very keen on this - although I’m not sure how staff at other Kellogg’s sites will feel. Would you appreciate a scheme such as this at your place of work?
