Last year Paul pointed out how people are using Twitter to vent about their organisation's procurement department
. There were also potential suppliers voicing red fury at the purchasing practices they encountered.
Logging on to update SM's Twitter account
means I see this nearly every day. It amazes me that people are willing to be so publicly critical of colleagues or organisations they are attempting to win business from.
Recently I have also noted an upward trend in people lambasting procurement systems. Frustrated at being unable to process simple orders, they scribe espresso-sized blogs full of venom.
Here's one example from yesterday: “I am sick to the teeth of our procurement system, something on my basket is not right but it won't tell me what!”
This is a typical complaint. Perhaps e-procurement firms should take note: some customers are unhappy with the systems you provide.
