The shortlist is now out for the CIPS Supply Management Awards 2015.
Congratulations to all the organisations and individuals who made it through to the next round and commiserations to those who have not been so lucky this year.
There was a record number of entries and a bumper crop of new names from the private and public sector battling it out to win a gong for their hard work.
The standard gets higher every year, so those who have made it to the shortlist already have something to celebrate and they have been invited to mark this achievement at our annual party. The event, exclusively for nominees, takes place at the Rotunda at Kings Place in London on the evening of 16 July, and is a great opportunity to network with fellow nominees (and check out the competition!).
Whether you made it through to the next round or not, don’t forget to book your table to ensure your seat at this year’s awards, which will be hosted by comedian and actor Alexander Armstrong at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 9 September.
The host of quiz show Pointless will entertain the audience before revealing the winners and presenting the prizes in the 12 team and two individual categories, as well as announcing this year’s overall winner.
Following last year’s awards, Paul Kelly, CEO of REO, who together with Selex ES won in the SRM category as well as the overall prize, told me: “The event was absolutely unbelievable. It was incredibly professional – so well co-ordinated and impressive. I’ve never experienced anything like it before.
“We don’t have anything like that for our industry in the US – the only way I could describe it to colleagues was that it was ‘the Oscars for the profession’. It was a great night and well worth the trip - and I would have said that even if we hadn’t won."
