This series of one-day events provides key guidance and support
for delegates studying for Diploma-level qualification modules
and preparing to take examinations.

It will offer the opportunity for students to develop skills in approaching both study and exams with confidence by focusing on techniques for success.

Each session contains both a selection of module-specific concepts and theory and valuable guidance on how to approach your exam preparation.  There will also be the opportunity to apply skills through a mock assessment.

Basic psychology

Assessing personality to size up opponents
Acknowledging the differences between personality types
How to assess others quickly and identify their preferred negotiation strategy
Influencing vs. negotiation
Stakeholder management strategies
Counteraction strategies

Highly suitable for all Diploma-level students and particularly beneficial for those who are studying independently and/or by distance learning. Recommended for those who wish to learn more effectively and efficiently and build confidence in preparation for taking CIPS exams.


By the end of this course you will be able to:
Use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test, regarded as the gold standard within large corporations when it comes to personality profiling
Identify personality types and know how to counteract personality strategies
Control and develop your own personality ‘hotspots’
Understand how to interact using personality theory to manipulate situations.

This study skills and exam preparation workshop contains exercises that enable delegates to link practical application around the learning outcomes for module D1 - Contexts of procurement and supply.

Each session includes:

  • Access to pre-course online resources -  videos, podcasts, animations, reading, activities and games.
  • Opportunity to take a mock assessment paper with constructive individual and group feedback
  • Getting into good habits and understanding the learning outcomes for the unit you are studying
  • Practical application of a selection of procurement and supply concepts and theory
  • Practice exam techniques in a safe environment
  • Study strategies for building confidence
  • Valuable networking opportunities before, during and after the course
