New agreement signed in Bangladesh to develop core competency skills in procurement

CIPS signs new agreement with the Central Procurement Technical Unit of the Government of Bangladesh to develop an accreditation programme and core procurement competence skills.

The Institute of Governance Studies will be delivering the CIPS programmes in Bangladesh, with the first group of 20 participants in early July.

Sheila White, International Public Sector Development manager for CIPS said of the move: "We are delighted to have signed this agreement. This is an excellent development in our donor-funded activities and to spark more interest in procurement issues in the region."

The contract with the Government of Bangladesh will run until March 2013 under the Public Procurement Reform Project, supported by the World. Those performing at the highest level during the three-week residential course will be offered the opportunity to study at a higher level in the UK under the contract.
