New data for CIPS members

CIPS has partnered with Mintec Limited, providers of independent global pricing information on commodities and raw materials to develop more unique insights and data for procurement professionals.
The data is available online in a dedicated area on the CIPS website [http://www.cips.org/Knowledge/Procurement-topics-and-skills/Understand-Need---Market-and-options-assessment/Mintec/] and will include a summary of the Mintec Market  Reports (released monthly) on a range of commodities and raw materials such as foods, pulp and paper, plastics, metals, chemicals and energy, and providing a snapshot of one month’s activity, issues and risks. The market intelligence also includes detailed executive summaries, across a range of raw material based reports which contain a breakdown of key facts, production methods and fluctuating prices. In the coming months the knowledge will also include expert commentary, jargon busters, case studies, webinars, events and films.
David Noble, Global CEO, CIPS said, “High-quality, robust and honest data is critical to the effectiveness of good procurement practice and for anyone working at any level in business.
“Understanding the risks attached to commodities and raw materials can influence forecasting in business and the strength of supply chains in coming months and years as key to securing essential supplies.
“I’m pleased that we have such a high-profile partner on board to strengthen our knowledge and support for our members.”
Brian Smith, Data Director, Mintec Ltd, “The continued challenges and volatility within the raw material markets requires procurement professionals to have more insight at their fingertips.  This partnership will link the leading independent raw material data insight organisation with the most reputable and wide spread procurement institute on a global basis.  Such strength and brand association can only be good for all clients and members that both organisations service”
The new partnership with Mintec forms part of a programme of high-profile and value-add partnerships that support CIPS members and other procurement and supply management professionals. The partnerships include thought leaders and sector experts who showcase innovation on current issues and support best practice in the profession.
The intelligence is currently available to all CIPS members free of charge [ [http://www.cips.org/Knowledge/Procurement-topics-and-skills/Understand-Need---Market-and-options-assessment/Mintec/
