Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

CIPS is committed to promoting, supporting and encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) in the procurement profession. We believe the benefit is clear: a profession where everyone can participate and reach their full potential.

As part of that commitment, we are creating a platform – so that issues can be discussed, understanding can be built, and best practice and guidance can be showcased to help individuals and employers tackle this important issue.

We have collected some valuable resources, including videos, podcasts, webinars and guidance from credible experts in this space, to help you to build both a diverse team, and a diverse supply base.

If you have experience to share, a case study that will inspire others, or some guidance that has helped you on your journey, get in touch at diversity@cips.org.

Resources from other leaders

CIPS are working in collaboration with a number of experts to provide CIPS members with best practice - whether you need support with writing a policy, understanding unconscious bias, or how to drive the D&I agenda forwards in your organisation. There are some useful tips on tackling difficult conversations in the workplace, as well as tools and strategies that will help you create a positive impact on diversity in the workplace.

The CIPS and MSDUK Supplier Diversity guide helps organisations understand the value that supplier diversity can deliver for businesses, and gives practical examples and tips from those who are leading the way with their supply chains. The WeConnect code of conduct and gold standard checklist are a useful reference when writing your statement of intent and also provide a good benchmark when striving for best practice.
