Explore your role as the apprentice, and the steps you will need to take to get started.

How does it work

In England, Apprenticeship Standards set out the knowledge, skills and behaviours that an occupation requires. Enhance your career prospects  with a mix of work-based learning, an internationally recognised qualification and professional development opportunities.

The Apprenticeship Programmes

The duration of the apprenticeship can vary and is dependant on the programme of learning set by your training provider, employer and there's the apprentice’s prior experience to consider. Typically, most apprenticeship standards require a minimum of 12 months on the programme.

Applying for an apprenticeship and choosing a training provider

Firstly, make sure you talk to an approved apprenticeship training provider about the types of programmes they can offer. Currently, the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate or CIPS Level 4 Diploma qualifications are mandatory elements for each standard. So it's important that your training provider has the capability to help you achieve this by offering a high quality learning programme.
