What's in the apprenticeship programme?

Once you have achieved the Commercial Procurement and Supply Chain Apprenticeship you will can position yourself as effective and commercially skilled in the procurement and supply function.  

All of the knowledge and skills you will gain are transferable into the public, private and charitable sectors due to the mandatory qualification CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply. You will also be awarded Diploma Membership of CIPS, giving you the potential to continue on a qualifications pathway leading to MCIPS Chartered Professional. 




Who is it For?

This level 4 apprenticeship is designed to excel commercial capability for aspiring junior and middle procurement and supply managers. It is also for those in a supervisory role already in the procurement and supply function.

  • Assistant Buyer
  • Assistant Contract Officer
  • Contract Analyst
  • Stock/Inventory Controller Planner


Entry Requirements

Any entry requirements will be determined by individual employers which may, for example, typically require 5x A*-C/ 9-4 grade GCSEs and must include English & Maths.

What You Will Learn

To fulfil this role you must develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) across all of these aspects of the commercial lifecycle. Additionally, through your apprenticeship in an on and off-the-job learning and experiencial programme, you will gain the knowledge to prepare you for the Gateway, before moving onto the end point assessment.

Qualification level: As part of the off-the-job training for the apprenticeship, you must successfully complete the CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 4) before the end-point assessment (EPA). Your training provider will advise and guide you and your employer about how you will achieve this.

Duration: The apprenticeship will typically take up to 2 years to complete, with a minimum 18 months duration - this can vary depending on your training provider and level experience.
