    The ManagementDirect portal collates learning materials including templates, case studies, white papers and over 250 checklists and summaries of key management topics, providing practical introductions to management skills and technologies.

    1. Who are CMI?
      The British Institute of Management was launched in the 1950’s, becoming the Institute of Management in the 90’s before being granted Chartered status in 2002, when the name was changed to the Chartered Management Institute. Their vision is to see ‘better led and better managed organisations’ which they see being achieved by their Mission ‘to increase the number and standard of professionally qualified managers and leaders’. Central to this are the qualifications they offer which lead to Chartered Manager status.
    2. Why are CIPS sending me to another institute?
      CIPS develop procurement-specific resources for our members, but recognise that some members may need access to management resources that are not procurement-specific. CMI offer a tool called ManagementDirect which has excellent resources complementary to our own.
    3. What is ManagementDirect?
      The CMI have developed a portal to access all of their online learning which includes templates, case studies, white papers, and over 250 practical summaries of key management topics, providing practical introductions to management skills and technologies.     6. If I become an affiliate member of CMI, do I still have to pay my CIPS membership fee?
      Yes, the reduced cost of joining CMI and accessing ManagementDirect is a benefit for CIPS members only. If you are no longer a CIPS member, you no longer qualify for the discounted rate.
