CIPS Botswana Branch was formed by a number of enthusiastic members who already knew that the profession serves the bottom line of any business entity.

The branch was formerly registered with the Registrar of Societies in the year 1999, and in the subsequent year 2000 it was officially inaugurated in the presence of former CIPS UK CEO, Ken James and Chris Gallagher, Director of Membership Development. The membership has been increasing exponentially since then, and this is an indicator of a quest for professionalism by the procurement and supply chain practitioners, both in the public sector and private sector. Amazingly no one wants to be left behind, everyone has realized that, professionalism is core global issue in any field of discipline.

Our Vision, Mission and Strategic intent are all inline with those of CIPS UK.
