Kirsty is the CIPS Awarding Manager for Assessment and has been employed in the role since 2014. Kirsty has a background as a quality and legal compliance manager, working in both manufacturing and professional services. As a practitioner, Kirsty was closely involved with the procurement function and she has experience of working on multi-million spend tender processes. She was a member of the vendor assurance steering group at Associated British Foods, travelling throughout the UK and oversees to conduct audits on their grocery supply chain.
Since the launch of the 2018 Qualification, Kirsty has been working with experts at Cambridge Assessment to develop the internal expertise and processes at CIPS. More recently Kirsty has been studying with Cambridge University successfully gaining a postgraduate certificate in educational assessment and examinations, establishing her as a specialist in assessment principles and validity.
Kirsty has responsibility for reviewing the legitimacy of exam content with CIPS panel of experts, both prior to and after live exams. As part of that process, Kirsty has reviewed the pattern of responses from many thousands of CIPS learners. Kirsty has been able to evaluate some of the behavioural patterns to known phenomena in published research, using this knowledge to inform our item development processes.
